<p>what do we mean by return? Sean&#39;s comments are good but he just says return like it is one thing. As investors move into retirement they will be more focussed on the income whilst still wanting growth. What if managers split returns into income and growth? Would a client be happy to see a 7% income return even if the growth component was -10%? Investors would not logically want to sell quality assets that are just fluctuating in value.
