ASIC does make it extremely difficult to apply for an AFSL. After spending 6 months on an AFSL application, it was refused by ASIC. What a waste of time to gather all this info and then have it rejected.
My experience with ASIC is negative. They seem to make it difficult for real service prividers. The crooks (read Trio etc) have it too easy.
