I always enjoyed Murph's company, and I admired his reasonableness, his drive and energy, his diplomacy, and his passion. As a AFA member who attended those Senate hearings with him all those years ago, Murph represented our industry ( he refused to call it a "profession " until some things changed ) with great skill in the face of some agressive questioning ( suprisingly some of it from a prominent Queensland Liberal ) on the issue of commission. He believed in achieving our political objectives in a patient manner, and knew the value of a compromise if one was to hand, always with the objective of keeping the lines of communication open.
Hopefully, one day Murph will get his wish and life advisers will truly be regarded as professionals

I had the privilege to be present at the last address Michael gave regarding the benefits of having protection while he shared with us at the last Gold Financial PD day.
His spirit in the face of the enormous challenges he faced inspired all not only to be on message but more evidently to be on life! The way he squeezed every bit of living out of such traumatic circumstances was to say the the least soul invigorating.
Michael shared a little about his faith with us and this left all of wanting a share of this strength.
All I can add to this wonderful journey of example is a phrase that Michael himself would be familiar with :I have fought the good fight,I have finished the race,I have kept the faith.(2 Timothy 4:7)
We shall meet again!

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

On behalf of his wife and children, thankyou for your tributes. It is amazing that so many others thought as much of him as we did. He was one if a kind, an exceptional person.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
