Why should the government care at all about contribution caps?
In SA, any members of the govt super plan known as SuperSA are not subject to any concessional caps at all....yes, that's right, they can salary sacrifice as much as they like while the rest of us are told we must abide by the government imposed limits.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

Super is a system in place that is taking the place of the government pension. The way things are global financially, there is a short fall in cash or finiance globally. The superannuation system needs to be structure for low to middle income earners. When the market is down the investors should not bear the grunt of the market short fall (loss). Super is not a option to invest or not invest. The system needs change, no faith in super for retirement. If an when markets crash or go negative on returns the fund should also have a loss (fees for fund an transaction fees ( for example). Money thats put into the superannuation should not go negative by law. On the balance safer in compound interest with the bank than super fund.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
