If the wait and see Liberals were in power we would have had a long recession and 8 to 9% unemployment. The imperative to have a surplus budget is not the role of government in times of economic stress. Unfortunately the media has diminished the importance of this quick response to the GFC and the gullible Australian public have been bombarded with the mantra that this was an expensive response.I look forward to the change of power because the response and consequences will be a stark contrast when the world economy goes into a Great Depression.Australia is only the Lucky Country when we make our own luck!
