Financial Standard Comments - It's official, Rudd saved Australia

It is being reported today that Treasury believe it was really former prime minister Kevin Rudd who saved Australia from the GFC and not the mining industry, but before we get too excited the analysis simply confirms that we don't just have a two-speed economy as we also have an internal and external one as well.

Well done Mr Rudd, hope this gets some air time with the right wing media. In Tasmania it played an even bigger role. Without the Rudd supplement Tasmania would've collapsed.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

On assuming office Kevin Rudd sat down with Treasury and Reserve Bank officials and acted decisively and immediately on their advice. If the wait and see Liberals were in power we would have had a long recession and 8 to 9% unemployment. The imperative to have a surplus budget is not the role of government in times of economic stress. Unfortunately the media has diminished the importance of this quick response to the GFC and the gullible Australian public have been bombarded with the mantra that this was an expensive response.I look forward to the change of power because the response and consequences will be a stark contrast when the world economy goes into a Great Depression.Australia is only the Lucky Country when we make our own luck!

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

We as Australians Voted for one Kevin Rudd, remember? kevin 07 this is who we chose to lead us, Julia gillard voted for herself and didnt even win an election yet(draw saved her) only had to lie and do deals to become PM but in general no again the Australian public did not vote for her. Kevin is upfront and stands by his word, Julia Gillard as obviously seen is a back stabber to her own party and too many incorrect and very stubborn decisions malaysia deal and waste of money carbon tax( the only country in world to pay for this) and only 20 million people here, every mistake juilia makes which is so many becomes a future another tax coming, learn how to say this for once TAX BREAK, KEVIN 07 Did Save This Country From Termoil, we voted for Kevin 07, bring him back 2011

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
