Well, this is the time when advisers do their best work. Reassuring clients, explaining markets and providing some guidance to look away from headline comments relating solely to short term issues.
Unfortunately when opt-in becomes law, it's those very clients who are reluctant to pay an ongoing advice fee for times like now, that will contribute even more to the herd behaviour of short-termism....and at a great cost to their portfolios.
And with a govt hell bent on making policy based on the very same short-termism philosophy, what chance do we have of changing this view??

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

In my opinion our behaviour is influenced by the environment we live in. In that what we see and hear can shape our thoughts, opinions and actions. A big fat red arrow pointing down with the head-line 'BLOODBATH! BILLIONS WIPED OFF OUR SUPER' doesn't help. The media have a responsibility to report balanced objective views. This is Short-termism in it's purest form

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
