ACSI and CareSuper have launched a new award to recognise efforts in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).
The Michael O'Sullivan ESG Rising Star award commemorates the late CareSuper chair. It is open to professionals working in Australian profit-for-members superannuation funds who have furthered environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) considerations in investment policy.
The winner will receive a $10,000 grant towards an ESG professional development opportunity and the award will be presented during the ACSI Annual Conference in May.
"CareSuper is a proud sponsor of this Award, which has been established to commemorate Michael's legacy to the superannuation sector and in particular to the incorporation of ESG principles in long-term investing," CareSuper chair Cate Wood said.
"Michael was well known for his support of the development of young professionals and a passionate advocate for all investors to confront the great moral and investment challenges of our times and his influence and legacy extends far beyond Australia."
