REI Super has re-appointed Ibbotson Associates as its investment consultant for another three years.

The investment consultant was re-appointed following a due diligence process that involved a number of other tenders. Ibbotson has provided investment advice to the super fund for a decade.

Mal Smith, chief executive at REI Super, said Ibbotson helped the fund navigate difficult markets successfully.

"The Ibbotson team has a thorough understanding of what we want to achieve for our members and their advice is uncomplicated, timely and effective," he said.

The REI Super board also recognised the benefits of the consultant's parent company, Morningstar, and its plans to grow its institutional consulting presence locally.

Ibbotson also provides investment advice to the Suncorp Staff Superannuation Fund, BT Lifetime Flexible Pension and BOC Gases Superannuation Fund, according to Rainmaker.
