The $7 billion HOSTPLUS has launched a new campaign encouraging members to "pledge to do one thing for their super" in an effort to rouse them to add more to their accounts.
Wayne Sullivan, executive manager of marketing at HOSTPLUS, said the campaign started in early March following the mail out of the fund's member magazine, More.
It is accompanied by an online campaign, with a section on the HOSTPLUS website now dedicated to the super pledge.
Members are urged to look into doing one thing to improve their superannuation account before the 30 June end of financial year deadline.
"We're focusing on six specific tactics, and with the magazine we've included a pledge card, which targets these," said Sullivan.
The six areas targeted by the fund are consolidation, lost super, tax file numbers, investment choice, co-contribution and setting up a "SuperSite" account online.
The magazine campaign is segmented into three strategies targeting three age groups.
Sullivan said the take up so far has been positive, with 1000 members already signing up to the pledge.
Members will be sent a congratulatory email should they succeed in meeting their pledge, or be reminded to meet their goals as the 30 June deadline draws near.
"The tool is proving to be effective, it's another way to engage members, and some people might like the option of that reminder," said Sullivan.
