John McMurdo, managing director at Hillross Financial Services, has left to join Centric Wealth as chief executive. Ray Djani, head of growth and M&A at Hillross, takes his spot until a replacement is found.
Prior to managing Hillross Financial Services, McMurdo previously worked as general manager of life insurance and, before that, as general manager of marketing at AMP New Zealand between 2003 and 2006.
He also held a number of roles at the Bank of New Zealand including head of product management, marketing and distribution and various other commercial banking positions.
Philip Kelly, chair at Centric, said McMurdo's marketing skills and experience in growing businesses were key reasons for his appointment.
"Our challenge is to deliver that [advice] service to many more Australians who may not know us yet," he said.
An AMP spokesperson said the company is conducting an internal and external search for McMurdo's replacement.
Hillross represents over 318 financial advisers and more than $10 billion in assets under advice, according to Rainmaker.
Centric Wealth has approximately $5 billion in assets under advice across a network of 59 financial advisers.
