RBS restructures Aussie equities team

The Royal Bank of Scotland has appointed a new head of equity capital markets (Australia) and named three new members to its Australian equities team.
RBS has appointed David Goffage as head of equity capital markets Australia, replacing Patrick Broughton who will be relocating from Sydney to London to take up the role of head of ECM, EMEA & US.
The Australian equities team has also appointed Richard Hitchens as director, specialist quantitative sales, Roger Spellman as director, head of sales for Australian Equities and Mark Tisdell as investor product sales specialist.
Previously a managing director of RBS ECM Australia, Goffage has worked within the ECM team for more than nine years.
Prior to this, he spent three years with Credit Suisse in London and two years in the ECM team at Bankers Trust in Sydney.
In his new role, Goffage will also join the equities origination global management team.
Meanwhile Hitchens will be responsible for delivering RBS' tailored quant research produced in both Australia and the UK. He joins from Goldman Sachs where he held various roles including account management and quant research, which was successfully marketed across all major institutional clients.
Based in London, Spellman will be responsible for marketing the Australian equity products to UK and European clients. He was previously with Credit Suisse and held a similar role both there and at BNP Paribas from 2002 to 2008.
Tisdell will be in charge of driving the sales of multi-asset products to clients within retail distribution networks. Tisdell was formerly with Macquarie Bank where he was in a similar role for five years.
He will report to Aaron Stambulich, head of Asian public distribution.
