IRESS Market Technology has signed a deal to be the sole provider of core client and investment management technology to investment firm Elston Partners.

Under the arrangement, Elston Partners will be using IRESS (market data), IOS (trading and order management), IPS (portfolio administration, compliance, tax and reporting), XPLAN (client relationship management and workflow management) and htmlIRESS (client online access market data and portfolio reporting.)
"We have chosen to implement what we feel is state of the art technology," said Andrew McKie, managing director of Elston Partners.

The firm started using the IRESS products in October although the work is not finished just yet.

"We are working with IRESS on refining things and gradually improving the processes, particularly with XPLAN and its integration.

"So for the next 12 months it'd [be] pretty important," said McKie.

McKie said Elston assessed a number of different providers but settled with IRESS because the firm's objective was for streamlined integration.

"[There] is easy integration between market information and the dealing side, tax reporting, portfolio administration and funds management modeling all under the one system," said McKie.

Elston has offices in Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT. Many of its clients are business owners, professionals, executives and self funded retirees.
