Former NAB/MLC Wealth head of national accounts and research Matt Thompson will join Perpetual next month as general manager strategic accounts.
The move is part of a shake-up of Perpetual's retail distribution set-up announced in December, which sees a new focus on key clients and decision makers in retail funds.

This includes a strategic accounts division, an adviser distribution team led by Jorden Brown.
A research and operations team will be headed up by Kyle Lidbury, who joins Perpetual next month from NAB/MLC Wealth.
Thompson's strategic accounts team is made up of senior staff who will service the head offices of the largest advice practices and platforms.
His previous experience includes senior positions at AMP, Suncorp and Colonial Fist State.
At MLC Wealth Thompson led MLC sales across platforms, insurance and investment.
Other recently announced personnel changes to the firm include Kyle Lidbury, Anthony Aboud to Perpetual Investments, as well as three new executives to the income and multi-sector team.
"We are reinvigorating our distribution and marketing effort, both by developing new client solutions that respond to real needs and by looking at a more functional way to bring these products to market," said Geoff Lloyd, Perpetual chief and managing director.
"We believe we can generate growth even if market sentiment does not favour flows. Today's completion of the new retail distribution structure is another step in achieving that objective."
