A new Android app has been launched by technology provider Omnium, which enables financial advisers to instantly compare and model life insurance premiums.

The free app gives access to all retail products on Android powered devices and also allows advisers to email illustrations back to themselves or the client during the quotation process.

According to Omnium, over 1,000 advisers have downloaded life insurance iPhone and iPad life insurance quotation apps since first being developed by the company in 2010.

"Being market leaders in the space, and as Android devices has become more popular in recent times, it was only expected we would be the first to provide financial advisers in Australia with an Android powered app," says Trishanth Chandrahasan, Omnium product manager.

The app can be used on all Android smartphones and tablets.

Omnium recently released the first iPhone life insurance quotation app into the UK market.
