Sunsuper executive joins IFM Investors

The chief investment operations officer at Sunsuper has joined IFM Investors in a newly created role.

Lounarda David has been appointed as chief operations officer to further support IFM's growing investment management business.

The role was created to support and enhance the development of the division across all operations, incorporating middle office, performance and attribution, IT, data management and program management.

David joins from Sunsuper where she has held the role of chief investment operations officer since March 2014.

David started her career with State Street where she held numerous senior roles and also spent 14 years at Mercer, where she served as partner and regional director, Mercer Sentinel Asia Pacific.

"IFM Investors is delighted to have appointed a financial services executive of Ms. David's standing having amassed significant experience in a career spanning multiple jurisdictions, for more than 30 years, with an emphasis on placing clients at the centre of operational excellence," IFM Investors chief executive Brett Himbury said.

Her knowledge and depth of experience will be a significant asset to growing the global business, he added.

Himbury said the firm aspires to be the world's most trusted fund manager.

"In order to do so, we need to continue to invest in our people as our greatest asset in order to allow forums to contribute to the direction of our great business, encourage a depth of thinking and provide strong foundations for accountability and collaboration," he said.

David will commence her new role in April 2018, reporting directly to Himbury.
