NSW-based Local Government Super (LGS) is searching for a sustainability officer to assist in monitoring its investments.

The successful candidate will report to the fund's chief investment officer.

The fund is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) and is a founding member of the Australian Council of Super Investors (ACSI) and a part owner of Regnan Governance & Engagement.

LGS hired Mercer as its new asset consultant in September last year, replacing Intech Investments.

Mercer is known for its services in implementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues across investment portfolios, which is core part of being a UN PRI signatory.
