Wednesday, 5 August 2009 11:45am

The former senior vice president of the recently shut Nicholas-Aplegate Capital Management has re-emerged at Pengana Capital as executive director for new institutional business.

John Hamer will be responsible for new institutional business at Pengana.

The announcement that he has moved to the boutique firm comes after last month's announcement that Nicholas-Applegate had shut down its Australian offices, with all client services to be re-directed back to its San Diego headquarters.

Hamer boasts 20 years of investment industry experience gained in institutional business development roles with a number of high profile managers.

He started at Pengana this week.
