Poidevin joins Pengana
Tuesday, 24 March 2009 10:25am
The former joint head of Citigroup Australia's corporate broking business, Simon Poidevin, leaves Citi to join Pengana as an executive director.
Russel Pillemer, chief executive of Pengana Capital, said Poidevin's experience and profile will help provide a significant boost to Pengana's future growth prospects in Australia and internationally.
In his new role, Poidevin will work principally with the Pengana Global Volatility Fund and develop additional multi-asset volatility strategies with principal fund Manager Alvin Wilkinson and his team.
Poidevin said he's known Wilkinson since 1991 and convinced him more than three years ago to introduce the Pengana Volatility fun in Australia.
"All credit to Pengana for recognising the potential of Alvin's strategy by bringing the fund under its banner," he said.
Poidevin joins Pengana after 14 years with Citigroup in Australia, where his most recent role was as joint head of the firm's corporate broking business.
Poidevin is also a former Wallaby who represented Australia in 59 Rugby Union Tests. He captained the Wallabies in four test matches and played in two World Cups, including Australia's win in 1991.
He joins Pengana on 16 April.
