Vanguard Investments Australia has appointed two new regional sales managers and plans to recruit more business development managers (BDMs) to support its growing adviser client base.
Vanguard Investments Australia has named its two new regional sales managers, Manuel Damianakis and Mark Carlile.
Damianakis has worked for Vanguard for two years and in that time helped set up Vanguard's adviser base in New South Wales and Queensland. He will now be the regional sales manager and national account manager for the Northern region.
Carlile was previously at Goldman Sachs JBWere where he worked as state manager and national key account manager. His new role will be as regional sales manager and national account manager for Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia & Western Australia.
The index manager is also recruiting for BDMs in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
"The growth in the adviser business has been strong for the past three years as advisers have embraced the core-satellite portfolio construction approach and seen the advantages to their business and client outcomes of using low cost index funds," said Robin Bowerman, head of retail at Vanguard.
"Vanguard sees an opportunity to build on that and as a result is dedicating more sales and marketing resources to the area."
The appointments followed the announced departure of Vanguard's head of marketing, Colin Bold, who will leave the company at the end of this year to relocate to Sydney for personal reasons.
