Online lender appoints new CFO

The former chief financial officer at SocietyOne is joining another online lender as its new CFO.

OnDeck Australia, an online lender specialising in small business loans, has appointed Jerry Yohananov as its new CFO.

Yohananov has more than 25 years' experience in financial services and investor relations, having held positions at TrustDefender, NextGen Gaming, KPNQwest and KPMG Audit.

OnDeck chief executive Cameron Poolman said Yohananov will be instrumental in "helping achieve a leadership position in the Australian market."

"[His] industry experience will play a key role in strengthening our capabilities to deliver great value to our customers in the coming future. We are delighted to welcome him to the team," Poolman said.

OnDeck is beginning its second year of operations. Its US arm has a $200 million asset-backed revolving debt facility with Credit Suisse. OnDeck US says it will use the funds to expand its balance sheet lending operations.

Yohananov will replace Garron Maree, who served as OnDeck Australia's chief financial officer since the company's launch to the Australian market in April 2015. Maree leaves to head commercial operations at FlexiGroup.
