ASX-listed property investment group Charter Hall has appointed its new chief financial officer.
Russell Proutt has more than 25 years of finance experience, including 11 years at Brookfield Asset Management - a Canadian listed diversified real asset investment manager.
He served as a managing partner within the Brookfield Infrastructure Group and was co-head of Brookfield Infrastructure Debt where he was responsible for sourcing, overseeing investments and operations. Proutt was most recently the chief financial officer of Brookfield Australia.
Prior to joining Brookfield, he was a director at Credit Suisse's investment banking operations in Toronto.
Charter Hall chief executive and managing director David Harrison said Proutt is a results-oriented finance executive who has extensive global property, infrastructure and private equity experience.
"His considerable leadership experience in financial management, transactions and equity markets will be a great benefit to the group," Harrison said.
Proutt will replace head of group finance Anne Edwards and group treasurer Phil Schretzmeyer, who will both continue as joint CFOs until August.
