MetLife will launch its retail life insurance offer to advisers and brokers next year and has appointed a head of retail sales from AMP to facilitate this process.
Matt Lippiatt joins MetLife from AMP, where he was national account manager. He has held multiple roles at AMP, including national account manager, head of national accounts for the IFA market, sales operations manager and business development manager.
Prior to AMP, he held roles at CB Financial, Asteron Life and CBA.
MetLife chief distribution officer Chesne Stafford said: "Matt has a great combination of experience working across many areas of life insurance, including group, corporate and retail, and with a strong wealth background."
"He is in tune with the needs and wants of advisers and their clients and will be instrumental not only in helping us to deliver our initial retail offer next year, but in working closely with our adviser partners to continuously identify and drive future enhancements," Stafford said.
Stafford also highlighted MetLife's experience with group and corporate schemes, saying the insurer's "strong claims philosophy" will carry across to its upcoming retail offering.
"We have the support of our global MetLife network, coupled with exceptional local expertise, and I'm excited to welcome Matt to our growing retail team," she said.
