Mercy Super appoints new chief executive

Corporate fund Mercy Super has appointed a new chief executive.

Wendy Tancred joined Mercy Super in April from Davidson Consulting, where she was also chief executive. Before that, she was Queensland state head of financial planning at BT Financial Group and managing director of MAP Funds Management and MAP Financial Planning.

She also held multiple roles at Westpac, including national head of financial planning for the private bank, regional development manager and head of business development. Prior to that, at AMP, she was state market development manager, senior small business technical adviser, women's financial adviser and retirement products officer.

Tancred currently sits on the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia's executive committee, the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment advisory board and the Australian Dental Association Foundation advisory board.

At Mercy Super, she succeeds Neil Sheppard, who took the reins at Mercy Super 2012.
