Equity Trustees appointed RE to multinational group

Equity Trustees will be the new responsible entity for a multinational financial services group operating in Australia which recently launched two equity funds.

Sanlam Private Wealth Australia, formerly known as Calibre Investment, launched the SPW Global High Quality Fund and Wenlock Global Fund in Australia and globally.

Commenting on the appointment, Equity Trustees executive general manager, corporate trustees services, Harvey Kalman said: "[Sanlam's] decision to launch two funds in Australia is an exciting development, and Equity Trustees is pleaded to be part of this fund offering into the Australian market."

"The two funds, which will be offered across the different investment markets, will benefit from having an RE offering convenience and industry knowledge about all the compliance and issues involved in overseeing a fund."

"Our role is to take full responsibility for ensuring the fund is operating within the legal framework and that its governing constitution is flexible as it needs to be as well as providing certainty for investors, allowing the fund manager to solely focus on its investment strategy."

In June, Equity Trustees was appointed RE for $5.9 billion boutique global and emerging market equities manager GQG Partners.

Sanlam Private Wealth, headquartered in South Africa, currently manages $26 billion in assets for 30,000 clients.
