ANZ Wealth's head of business governance has taken on a new role at Vanguard after 16 years with the bank.
Ian Dent joins Vanguard as senior compliance manager. In this position, a Vanguard spokesperson said, Dent will "lead Vanguard Australia's compliance function across multiple commercial lines to protect Vanguard's interests effectively in accordance with relevant legislation and separate account mandates."
Dent was head of business governance at ANZ Wealth since 2013. Prior to that, he held multiple positions at ANZ including global head of policy - markets risk, head of risk remediation and acting head of risk, head of market and treasury risk for New Zealand, head of risk - margin lending and senior manager - market risk.
His move to Vanguard follows ANZ Wealth's head of investment product and research, William Burkitt, also leaving to take on a new role at Mercer. Burkitt held the head research role at ANZ Wealth for five years, prior to which he was executive director, head of investment products and services at UBS Wealth Management Australia. He has also been a global research strategy consultant at Lonsec, a strategy director at Skandia Investment Group and Hong Kong country manager at Rainmaker Information.
An ANZ spokesperson told Financial Standard that Burkitt "has decided to leave ANZ Wealth to take up a new career opportunity at Mercer. Will's last day will be January 24 and we will work with him and the team to ensure a smooth transition. We wish him all the best for the future."
Commenting on Burkitt's new role, a Mercer spokesperson said: "Mercer confirms that Will Burkitt will be joining Mercer Australia in 2018."
"In offering a different kind of solution, Burkitt will be leading an initiative to explore how Mercer can participate in, and add value, within the senior-living, aged-care and post-retirement space leveraging Mercer's capabilities in the health, wealth and career domains," the spokesperson said.
