ANZ insto property head joins $2.3bn debt manager

The former head of institutional property at ANZ has joined a commercial real estate debt manager as investment director.

Based in Sydney, Eddie Law will focus on the New South Wales, Queensland and ACT markets; he will manage relationships with borrowers and corporate, private and institutional investor clients.

Law joined ANZ in 2004 as global head of leasing and structured asset finance. Before that, he was an executive director at Centre RE, joint managing director of Omni Technology Rentals and director leasing and structured tax-based funding at Allco Finance Group.

He said MaxCap "is on a growth trajectory and has built its' reputation over the past decade as Australia's pre-eminent commercial real estate investment manager with an impeccable track record and quality institutional grade investment platform."

"MaxCap is strategically positioned to fill the current funding gap, as the banks loosen their hold on CRE lending," Law said.

MaxCap managing director Wayne Lasky added: "Eddie has extensive industry experience and a successful track record in the domestic and offshore market."

"His deep market and asset knowledge and broad institutional network, will be key to our domestic and international expansion. We are delighted to be able to continue to attract people of his calibre to MaxCap," Lasky said.
