AIA Australia will drive growth in the Asia region with the appointment of a new head of IFA distribution.
Sam Tremethick, who first joined the life insurer in 2012 as national manager of strategic partnerships before accepting the role of IFA head of distribution in 2014, will be responsible for the growth strategy across Asia, New Zealand and Australia and will be seconded to the AIA Group in Hong Kong.
Kristen Lennis-Harvey, head of strategic partnerships, will take on the role of acting head of IFA distribution for Australia.
AIA chief retail insurance officer Pina Sciarrone thanked Tremethick and Lennis-Harvey for their contribution to the success of AIA.
"Our aim is to have the right people in the right roles so we can work with our business partners and ultimately serve our clients in the best possible way," she said.
"Kristen with her experience and passion will ensure that our IFA business partners will continue to receive the high level of support from AIA Australia they are used to getting."
In September, AIA acquired 100% of CBA's Australian and New Zealand life insurance businesses for $3.8 billion, increasing its position as one of the biggest life insurers in the Asia-Pacific region, and expanding its distribution capabilities.
"We look forward to welcoming our new customers and colleagues, and working with CBA to deliver innovative insurance products and services that meet the growing financial protection needs of customers across Australia and New Zealand," AIA Group chief executive and president Ng Keng Hooi said at the time.
AIA and CBA anticipate the acquisition process to be completed in calendar year 2018.
