The Association of Financial Advisers Ltd is the professional organisation established by, and for, career financial advisers. Our intention is to deliver quality services to the members and their businesses. In 1946 a number of life insurance advisers formed the Life Underwriters' Association of Australia and New Zealand. This then became the Life Underwriters Association of Australia (LUA), and later, the Australian Lifewriters Association. In 1997 the name was changed to Association of Financial Advisers Ltd to reflect the changing job of a financial adviser, in the emerging comprehensive financial services industry.
The Institute of Managed Accounts Providers - IMAP - is the peak professional body for Australian managed account providers.
Our key purpose is to strengthen the message, presence and concept of managed accounts in Australia; raise awareness of the benefits relative to traditional investment vehicles; establish a forum for dealing with operational, legal, compliance and distribution issues; provide professional education to members and represent member's views to government, regulators, the media and other stakeholders to ensure effective input into policy and decision making.
