I wouldn't call a -0.1% contraction an upside surprise! More like a small variation in forecasts of sluggish, unproductive, debt ridden EU countries.
Couple that with a possible military strike by Israel on Iran with the resulting oil price spike and the World is not a very happy place.

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.

Oh dear, Benjamin, has everyone forgotten that the intrinsic safety in having holdings in good, solid australian companies, is to enjoy the tried and tested, age-old benefit of a reliable dividend income-stream; an income-stream that is tax-advantaged; an income stream that has
increased 7-fold over the past 20 years. And so what, if capital values happen to have appreciated by a similar factor (or more, actually)? So what, if 'the market' is lagging the US. What do prices matter? I shant be selling, anyway. Why would I sell such an excellent, reliable, extraordinarilly successful source of income.
Of course, I could change my philosophy, and start trading in the ASX . . . . . .
Shall I buy? Shall I hold? Shall I sell? Oh dear. so much to think about!

Reply to article

For original story, Click Here.
